Shivadelic at UNIVERSAL RELIGION 2013

Hello to all the Psychedelic souls who made this year’s edition of Universal Religion 2013 the biggest year ever. As tradition goes we carry on with our ‘Know your Artists’ section that puts all of you one step closer to the man and machines that make you dance. Reports are out that all the performers played out incredible sets which have left indelible impressions in our minds. So goes with the upcoming talent of Shivadelic who has been making quite a few waves in the halls of Progressive Trance of India. Fresh out of the UR Nepal 2013 outing as we took the opportunity to get his thoughts in a quick fire session in which we find out about his passion for music and his thoughts on his budding career in Psy- dom.

Where are you from and how many years have you been playing?

Shiva- I’m from Mumbai and it’s been 2 years.

UR- What made you choose Psychedelic Trance?

Shiva- Just fell in love with the music.

UR- Any early influences, someone you may have followed?

Shiva- No.

UR- If you were not a Dj, what other profession would you be in?

Shiva- I am gym enthusiast, and will always be. Djing and music is my passion which I love to do so I can spread the positive vibe.

UR- Name one of your favorite Dj/Producer in the current scene?

Shiva- Tristan/ Mad Maxx.

UR- Do you have any hobbies, what are they?

Shiva- If not Djing then I am in the gym and then either or.

UR- Which venue do you like playing in and why?

Shiva- Universal Religion and Hill Top, Shiva Valley in Goa. The energy and vibe seems to be perfect on the dance floors there.

UR- You’ve released a compilation on Digital Om Productions, how long did it take you to finish and are you happy with the feedback you have received?

Shiva- It took about one year. I am very happy with the response, it’s still rocking.

UR- Give us your top 3 tracks at the moment.

Shiva- Ganesha Namah- Mad Maxx vs Shivadelic, The Ritual- Avalon vs Mad Maxx & Another Planet remix- Tristan (unreleased)

UR- In brief give us your thoughts on Universal Religion 2013 and the team who’ve worked tirelessly towards this years edition.

Shiva- Can’t wait to get there. The team have worked very hard to put it together. They’ve been on this for the last 3 months or even more.

UR- How do you like your music to be sounding like?

Shiva- Mostly start Progressive and then going in to Full on Psychedelic.

UR- Any production news?

Shiva- None for now.

UR- You’ve shared consoles with some of the best Psychedelic greats of our time, how’s the feeling?

Shiva- It’s a great feeling to share the console with such big acts. I get to know how they tune peoples minds.

UR- Where do you see yourself 5 years from now as a performer?

Shiva- Internationally of course. I’ll leave it to god to lead the way.

UR- If you were stuck on a deserted island and had to choose one thing to keep with you, what would that be?

Shiva- Water.

UR- Your favorite piece of Djing equipment?

Shiva- I recently saw the craziest Allen & Heath mixer at Blue Frog. I want to get my hands on it.

Shiva- Honestly can’t wait to get there asap.
